DOUBLE BLACK X TFH

I have been having a lot off times on my hands, well not really just better time management which is working in my favour so far. I decided to photograph some of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe, along with my all time favourite Wittner shoes which I simply can't live without. One thing to remember when wearing an all black ensemble is to mix up textures and materials always adds a different dynamic, especially if you love the colour black.

Tune to zone into would be. . .

ALL BLACK HAWK // MBFWA x THE FASHION HEIST

Here's to another MBFWA outfit, feeling a little like a black hawk but dressed down. I promise I will be posting more beautiful imagery from my time at Fashion Week at Sydney but at the moment, a separation from my computer to the shopping world is very much needed!

TFH X BNESTYLE - SHEER DENIM

It's been a long awaited reunion between Yolanda from BNEStyle and myself, since she is one of my first collaborators and my favourite! Although both our years have been off to quite a busy start we managed to get together and photograph some outfits.

Since my work at Topshop as a Personal Shopper Assistant, I have become very well acquainted with the Topshop style which now has become a part of my overall style. These boyfriend jeans have been my love for the past months, along with my trusted Wittner shoes oh and how can I forget the Le Specs? After visiting the James St pop up store of three of Australia's most talented emerging designers Khalo, Michael Lo Sordo and Christopher Esber, I took home some pretty sweet pieces. I chose to pair the invisible block tee with my fave Topshop jeans & sheer awesomeness happened!

L A S E R C U T || Obsession Items

In Brisbane our weather is so humid and unbearable at times, it honestly makes me cringe. But these Laser Cut Tees have made me smile a little bit more when it's hot. They are so easy to chic up your favourite pair of jeans or shorts for summer. So here is a compilation of my most loved laser cut tees I have collected over the past weeks.

Underneath I pair the white tee with a Cos clothing bralet I bought when overseas, you can find a similar one here. The top above is from Seed Heritage and the one below is from Witchery.

1st Seed Heritage Open Mesh Tee White - Available only in Black here
2nd Witchery Laser Cut Tank - Available here
Topshop Simple Ring Multi Pack - Available here
Sass & Bide Catch You Out Ring
Topshop Asymmetric Textured Skort - Available here (worn through out)

The black is definitely a great piece you can take into night wear, I love to pair this piece with lots of gold rings. The key to multiple ring wearing in a lot of multi's on one hand and the other a chunky statement ring. Under this piece I layered a Kahlo bralet.

Cloaked in White x The Fashion Heist

Cloaked in White

"There is something so amazing about a giant white blouse and denim, I always find rolling down denim shorts gives it more of an edge. Oh and we always need something oversized wether it's a hat or sunglasses, take your pick!"

Demi Cambridge // The Fashion Heist

Nicholas Breton Stripe off the shoulder top blk/wht - Pre-order from Revolve Clothing

Rainy afternoons and four explosively crazy fun gals hanging out for a fashion shoot is what happened when I met up with photographer Demi Cambridge. So I brought some clothes and we took a lot of images whilst listening to gangster beats. I also got to meet a talented MUA by the name of Jenna Coverly who also creates stunning illustrator work.

Check out Demi's work via her website, Facebook and Instagram @demicambridge

Billie Hilliard // The Fashion Heist

Photography through-out by Kristina Sika

Jimmie 1919 Gorget Necklace - Purchase Here

It was only a few weeks ago that I received a gorgeous gift of hand crafted jewelry from Billie Hilliard. Billie Hilliard the women behind the self titled label has studied with a master blacksmith and silversmith and believes in ethnic vintage elegance whilst being economically conscious of how the pieces are produced. All the pieces are made in the USA, where the Atlanta based designer spends her time creating rings to necklaces off family heirlooms.

Each piece was beautifully gift wrapped along with a lovely letter from Billie herself about the seven pieces she sent me. The pieces I instantly fell in love with were Billie and Jimmie cuffs, Jimmie Gorget necklace, a Billie ring and a pair of Rosci earrings. Each piece has it's own sense of elegance making it effortless to pair with my everyday outfits. (featured through-out the shoot)

I managed to sneak a quick interview with Billie Hilliard herself and gained a very beautiful insight into what this jewelry label is all about.

When did you fall in love with jewelry design?

As a child I always enjoyed scavenging through my mother and grandmothers jewelry boxes. I could sit for hourrs studying the design details of each piece. For as long as I can remember I've always been able to take almost any material and use my hands to make pretty things. So instead of having a pair of beautiful silver earrings, my pair were made of aluminium foil from the kitchen with painted clay for jewels.  As a young adult though, It all came together for me when I realized it was difficult to purchase jewelry.  I could always look at a piece and work myself backwards to figure out how it was made.  Once I began to construct these pieces myself, it was therapeutic and confirming.

How did the label come to be?

Once I started making pieces and wearing them people would stop me to compliment my jewelry.  I was so surprised by the frequency of comments that I had my mom come spend the day with me to see the reaction I was getting.  She was amazed and convinced that this was my calling.  I on the other hand was not convinced until I found myself shopping in “Project Runway’s” Season Two winner, Chloe Dao’s Houston boutique.  Chloe’s sister/store manager walked up and asked where I got my earrings.  I told her I made them and she asked if I would show her my collection.  Of course, I did not have a collection, but in three sleepless days, I had a 30 piece collection.  My expectation was that they would pick one or two pieces. To my surprise they wanted the entire collection.  Within two weeks, they needed to replace the entire stock because everything was selling like mad.

Model Behaviour Backstage at Fashion Fridays Heat 4

Models Natalie and Taylah backstage at Fashion Fridays at Capulet Bar wearing Qui Qui Fashion

Capulet Bar has been holding Fashion Friday's events directed by Claire Goldsworthy (also the creative mind behind Harriette Hill). The fashion show showcased 6 local Brisbane designers who competed in heat 4 of Fashion Fridays at Capulet Bar. I was lucky enough to model on the night which let me see all the inner works of how the event came together on the night.

I managed to take some some photos behind the scenes of the models, designers, make up artists from By Stephanie and hair stylists from LylaClare. See all the images below.

The Dog Days are Over - Jessica Tovey // BNE Style // Charlotte Reeves Photography

I have this very very obsessive love for all fluffy creatures and when Yolanda Van Kimmenade from BNE Style suggested a shoot with pet photographer Charlotte Reeves who suggested the I pose beside a great dane. I was sold!

The Dog Days Are Over editorial was born, with pieces from Jessica Tovey's Spring '13 collection that showcased leather skirts, jackets and beautiful metallic tweed. The dynamic mix of Levi the Great dane, myself and the location of our shoot at The Commissariat Store Museum was beautiful. This whole shoot could have not come to fruition without the creative minds behind it, the sun kissed make up palette was cleverly done by MUA Amy Louise and of coarse both Charlotte and Yolanda.
